Fashion and design in their production processes have a strong environmental impact and still too little is done to contain the damage caused to the planet by this important sector of the world economy, devoted to the sublimation of beauty and stylistic research.

Sustainable fashion ai Trajan’s Markets, where archeology meets the fashion system with the initiative “PHYGITAL SUSTAINABILITY EXPO“. The first world event entirely dedicated to the ecological transition of the fashion and design system through technological innovation  opens its doors in Rome on 5 July (also endorsed by AHGINGOS)

Innovative and experimental design, to respect the environment, that of 34 brand who joined the event organized by Sustainable Fashion Innovation Society, a non-profit association chaired by Valeria Mangani, which aims to enhance and promote emerging companies, SMEs and start-ups that embrace ecology in their production standards.

Workshop and collective fashion show

SFIS is dedicated to supporting small and medium-sized enterprises that wish to innovate their product in a sustainable way and to raise awareness among consumers on the importance of making informed choices in purchasing. of clothing product and accessories. And it is precisely on these two tracks that the event takes place: exhibition paths, workshops and conferences and a collective parade to demonstrate how beauty and research can and should go in the direction of ecological transition.

The previews of the companies

Thirty-two Italian and foreign brands and companies will unveil a preview of their sustainable products and the technological innovations that have made their creation possible. Some examples: Zilli will preview its first entirely sustainable garments, Carpisa will unveil the 500eco suitcase made from the recycled material of 30 plastic bottles and Lamborghini will communicate the great sustainable innovations expected in the immediate future: the launch of the first hybrid car in 2023 and the first electric Lamborghini in 2026.

Alongside the established brands there will be start-ups and small artisan businesses which, in addition to exhibiting their sustainable product, will meet end consumers and interact with them. In fact, it is important to open up to the general public, who will be able to participate in the workshops, visit the exhibition, attend the fashion show but above all interact directly with creatives and manufacturers to understand how each of us can be decisive for the creation of sustainable fashion.

Consumer awareness

This is precisely the central element of the EXPO: “Since all revolutions start from the bottom, the purpose of the Expo platform is also to make the consumer aware, providing him with information tools on the very high impact of the fashion and design sector for pollution. of our Planet ” declared Valeria Mangani, President of SFIS.

“Fashion is a story that begins with agriculture and ends in communication”

Visitors, in fact, will be able to discover what lies behind every single garment on display, thanks to the Phygital formula – physical and digital: the traditional sartorial mannequins will be accompanied by QR codes, which once framed will reveal the technological innovations contained in each outfit because, it is well known that technology plays a fundamental role in respecting the environment and in containing waste.

Companies will also have the opportunity to meet 20 qualified foreign buyers, selected for the occasion by the Italian Trade Agency.

Do not miss the conferences and workshops: 14 excellent speakers bearing the testimony of the companies, associations, federations that are determining the country’s green path: from Ernst & Young to CNA Federmoda, from WWF to the World Food Program will be able to reiterate in the collective interest what the conversion activity towards a sustainable approach is vital today.

IAW has also confirmed its endorsement as a institutional partner.
