United Nations General Assembly 75th session – 15 September to 2 October 2020
The General Assembly is a forum for multilateral negotiation. Since its establishment in 1945, the General Assembly occupies a central position as the chief deliberative, policymaking and representative organ of the United Nations. Comprising all 193 Members of the United Nations, it provides a unique forum for multilateral discussion of the full spectrum of international issues. It also plays a significant role in the process of standard-setting and the codification of international law.
The 75th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 75) will be held from 15 September to 2 October 2020, with the General Debate from 22 to 26 September and 29 September.
The overall theme is 75th anniversary of the United Nations – The future we want, the UN we need: Reaffirming our collective commitment to multilateralism.
