International Council of Women (ICW)

International Council of Women (ICW) founded in 1888, in General Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC), in Consultative Status with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), since 1947, is an international, non political, non-governmental organization and represents millions of women in its affiliated councils in all continents of the globe.

ICW's Objectives are: To Help Women to Help Themselves. To encourage the integration of women in development and in decision-making bodies. To promote recognition and respect for Human Rights.

To promote equal rights and responsabilities an all spheres,by removing all forms of discrimination based on birth, race, sex, language and religion. To bring together women from all continents in unity within diversity. To support all efforts for peace through negociation, arbitration and conciliation.
